“Mommy I'm so sad. We can't do anything because somebody has a cold.”
Helping your kid adjust.
My 4-year-old son Cj approached me with tears in his eyes. He’s been having a serious case of cabin fever due to the stay at home order. My heart really ached for him. 💔 He is so used to interacting with other kids. He is used going to restaurants and ordering from the menu. He wants to go to the water park and splash someone. He wants to slide down a slide.
The simple things we all took for granted.
We have done countless school activities, projects, and backyard games.
We are all effected by this #Pandemic in different ways.
There is no way for him to truly understand #Covid19 because he is just 4 years old.
So I’ve written a few things for you to do with your little ones during this time. To keep them healthy, happy and busy.
Communicate and remain positive
Be open and explain whats going on. They May not be able to fully understand but it opens up dialogue and helps them process what’s going on.
Set a schedule and add grace
I make sure I keep Cjs day prepared in advanced. I know when he is having breakfast, when he is going outside and even when he will be working on a school project. This helps me balance out my day. If I know what’s going on it keeps me from being exhausted and moody.
Wait a minute
Although this is my style of doing things keep in mind that every body is different. There are moms that are fine with going with the flow and that’s ok. We must be honest...with kids each day can be unpredictable. So don’t stress do what’s best for you and give yourself lots of grace.
Below are some ideas of things you can do keep your kids happy and busy.
Ride a bike
Go for a walk
Jump on a trampoline
Help cook dinner
Face-Time other family members
Start a business
Start a garden
Learn a language
Bake a cake
Play hide and seek
Read a book
Okay Mamas thats all I can think of right now lol.
Please give share some ideas as well.
